We’ll cover big bass fishing tips you can actually use: how to fish into big ones by catching quality numbers first, when and how to use swimbaits for big bass, how to find the best-but-hidden big bass spots, and the timing windows when true tanks finally slide up and feed.
Fix #1 – You’re not catching enough quality fish. I’ll show you why big largemouth usually show up when you’re already around 2–6 pounders, and how to read your bites so you know you’re on the right class of fish.
Fix #2 – Throw big swimbaits opportunistically, not all day. We’ll talk through how I use glide baits and soft swimbaits as a “bonus big fish” tool once I’ve already dialed in the pattern, instead of grinding all day for one random bite.
Fix #3 – Fish the best but least obvious spots. I’ll walk through real-world examples of hidden grass clumps, subtle rock, and off-the-side sweet spots where the biggest bass live away from pressure.
Bonus Fix – Timing windows for big bites. Beyond the obvious low-light and pre-front stuff, I’ll show you the overlooked spring afternoon window and the day-after-the-front pattern that has quietly produced some of my heaviest fish over years of guiding.

My problem is, I lack the foundational understanding on FINDING the fish. I bought a fix up 88 ranger, bought some solex units, the kota ultrex, got all the tech in the world and I still suck. Living in central FL this shouldn't be the case, we have great fish around. I watch videos all day but the moment I hit the water my ADD kicks in and I forget everything and I just fish areas that "look" good
I think two significant pieces of information were 1) fish adjacent or away from the obvious. The isolated structure. 2) THIS WAS THE BEST ONE. Fishing after the cold front. Conventional wisdom would say that the fish have gone deep and are not going to bite. Which is pretty much what we've all experienced. You're indicating something quite the opposite and that we've been missing the opportunity.
Now that is a unique piece of information.!!!!

My biggest fish have always come on the slowest, dinkiest days lol. I'm not calling you wrong by any means, it just seems i hear so much info that contradicts my experience in bass fishing.

You are correct tho. I live in Florida and have caught probably 20 bass at 10 pounds or bigger. My biggest being over 13. And on the days I caught those I caught other nice fish also or the person I was with caught nice fish also. My 13 pounder was followed up by my cousin catching an 8 about a half an hour later. I've caught two 10 pounders in the same day on 10 inch worms about an hour or two apart also. My biggest suggestion is throw big baits but I don't mind chasing trophies. I can throw for days just waiting on a bite knowing it's gonna be a good one. I remember when people would look at me like I'm crazy throwing a foot long bait lol. And honestly you still catch normal size fish on big baits as well. You are also spot on fishing good spots that get passed up or unoticed
