Kayak Bass CHEATER Disqualified for Photo Manipulation in Tournament

Another bass fishing tournament angler has been caught and disqualified during a Native Watercraft No Limits Series Tournament on Lake Fork. The angler manipulated the photo to make it look larger and luckily tournament officials were able to spot it, disqualify the angler before getting paid. Why do so many tournament anglers believe this is the thing to do to gain clout? Or boost their ego? Special thanks to @JeffMalott

  1. I'm the one who spotted the photo, DQed him and called him. The photo in question was taken on the day of the tournament. It included the kayak and bump board but the fish in the photo was stolen from the Bassmaster event on Toledo Bend a week prior. He has been banned from any Native events, most if not all Texas tournaments, and by many other regional and local organizations. He's also banned from TourneyX. That being said, it's ultimately up to the individual tournament directors to prevent him from fishing. Since I caught him before the judging was done and DQed him, we could not go after him legally. The other tournaments who paid him can go after him legally and I hope they do. I'm always working with TourneyX to make improvements to help prevent cheaters in the future. Dwayne and his team are always focused on making the software better.

  2. I compete in my Kayak fishing club's local trail so I heard about this early on. Been into kayak angling and tournies since 2018. Unfortunately none of this is new or going away. Submitting pics of dead fish, cut tails to extend length, stashing bass in containers out on the lake. If you can imagine it, its already been tried. And for a few hundred bucks and a trophy which represents the cheater's dishonesty? Why would you want that on your mantle?

  3. Our tournament directors on Lake Wappapello in Missouri 100% cheat and take money on a 100% pay back tournament at the classic. I can prove it and so could a lie dictator but some reason they to good to take it even when they place. When anglers call out others for cheating, best make sure you know who it is, even with a camera. If its Neil Holman(Main guy) friends he'll hand you your entry fee back and say "get the f**k out here, we don't need ppl like you."

  4. ok. Im a crappie guy, dont do much bass fishing. In fact, I give the vast majority of bass fisherman hell, but something I've been noticing for a while now when it comes to anything where there's competition there's always numerous obvious fake claims, bad mouthing fake videos etc. In this case a photoshopped fish. Anybody feel like some of these obvious bs claims as this one are "plants"? In other words, either individuals or someone is purposely putting a major portion of these cheaters etc into these tournaments with the intention of furthering a bad rap for bass fishing tournaments? Not saying at all cheaters aren't among us because we definitely know they are but it's getting to the point where some of this is becoming too obvious and more than suspicious. Just a thought

  5. Technology is killing the sport. It's almost not worth it to spend your hard earned money fishing tournaments because it's becoming easier and easier to cheat. And that includes ffs.

  6. Cheating happens way too much in tournaments and it’s not always caught, it’s utterly ridiculous people suck, and when they are caught they shouldn’t be allowed to fish anymore tournaments, and I don’t think it will ever stop, when you put money on the line people will do anything including selling their souls to the devil so to speak to win.

  7. Money is the problem not fishing ,although the punishment should be a blacklist .an apology to every person involved with an appropriate action.but this just doesn’t happen they just fish somewhere different .sounds like a dynamite fishing derby minus the fact.

  8. Hey Steve. To try and stop people from attempting to cheat is like us stopping the sun from rising. Impossible.
The best people can do is set up systems do discourage and catch those who will attemp to try.
    Tight lines.
    Regards, Steven.

  9. This kind of cheating should be banned for life from any tourney. This country is full of cheaters in all walks of life. I guess they see the guy in the red hat doing whatever he wants on the news every day and feel emboldened. SAD

  10. What an idiot. That wasn't even a good attempt at changing a photo. No way to completely eliminate it, but if they give these folks that get caught punishments like real jail time they might think twice.

  11. 25 inch fish, he must have the largest hand in the world lol He had a photo of a fish missing a chunk on the top of it's tail, if that was the BASS Toledo Bend tournament it was caught three times in two years and was over ten each time.
