A game of musical chairs was underway for the No. 1 spot on SCORETRACKER® as multiple names graced the top of the list – but Chris Lane pulled ahead with 56 pounds, 12 ounces on 23 scorable bass. Hot on his trail was Jeff Sprague with 51-7 on 30 scorable bass and Jesse Wiggins close behind with 50-12 on 20 scorable bass.
While the cut line didn’t move much in terms of total pounds during Period 3, the number of anglers within a single scorable bass of taking the 25th position was staggering to say the least. In the final minutes, Marshall Hughes claimed the last seat above the cut line with 25-15 on 11 scorable bass, but six anglers were one catch away from claiming his spot.
Stage 1 action continues tomorrow with the full fleet of anglers returning to Lake Whitney for Qualifying Day 2 on the MLFNOW! livestream at MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) app, and Rumble at 7:30 a.m. CT.
