Fishing Spinnerbaits on the BANK for BIG BASS

One of the best bass fishing lures of all time has to be the spinnerbait. Although it has been around for many years, it still continues to catch big bass all over the world. There are many differrent sizes and forms of spinnerbaits that can be fished in a variety of situations but they mainly mimick the shad that largemouth and smallmouth bass love to feed up on. In the early spring, the shad will begin to migrate to the shallows banks and backs of creeks and pockets to begin their spawning. They spawn at night during the full moon. Anytime you are seeing shad in the shallows it is a good time to through a spinnerbait for these bass. In this video, I am joined my friend Tyler and we are running banks where bass are staging up to begin spawning. I’ll give you some tips and techniques on fishing these spinnerbaits for bass and you can check out the style of spinnerbaits we are fishing to catch these bass. Stained water and windy conditions are always good for fishing spinnerbaits for bass, but you can fish them in any lake or pond during the early and late spring and have some big bass hit them.

  2. Dude LFG I was out on the water today in my kayak. Thought of this video and tied on the old spinner bait. I caught my PB a 7 lber a 6 lb and a 5 lb literally the best day on the water I have ever had. If I didn’t watch this video I wouldn’t have even tied it on. Really have to thank you for that!!!

  3. A lot of times I can't get the links at the bottom that u mention but thank u Justin for being specific on your info that u give us. The rod n reel combo info and length, # test, and etc. Thank U Brother n Fish On! πŸ™‚ LOVE UR VIDEOS! THEY ROCK!!!

  4. Ok I’m in West Texas, end of April, still hitting 40s at night, I love tossing spinners but havnt landed one yet this year, our water is chocolate milk muddy right now, and I’m bank fishing, what do I do to get a fish on? Please help

  5. Nice information. I've never caught a bass, ever, on one of those big bass sized spinner baits before. Mostly because I never really fished them much. I mostly fish ultra light gear, and don't throw typical big bass sized baits. I have caught bass on jig spinners, and tiny crude spinner baits I build, myself, with light wire. My PB bass was 4.02 lbs, landed on a 5' cherrywood UL spinning rod, with 6 pound braid spooled on a sienna 500fd shimano reel, and a jig spinner with a #1 brass ripple blade,1/32oz jighead, and 2" bright chartreuse curl tail grub rigged. It was awesome crazy! I landed a number of other fish on the same thing that day as well. Water was muddy, and I think there may have a been some wind blowing. I'm thinking of getting a bait casting reel for throwing heavier bass baits. I recently got into the enthusiast type of bait cast fishing called BFS. Ultra Light rated bait casting rods and reels, with shallow light spools. I have yet to test out casting lures, since I put the shallow spool into my reel. It's gonna be fun.

  6. My biggest fish was on a spinner bait it was a Northland tackle red and black spinner bait with a Colorado leaf it was a ten pounder in a pond I stocked with my neighbor 5 years ago I caught it this year in summer

  7. 1/2oz sexy shad War Eagle spinnerbait. I've got about a half dozen of those in that same color, just with different blade combos. One of my favorite spinnerbaits ever. Pepper Customs makes a bluegill pattern one too and that's right up there in terms of fish-catching.

  8. Hey LFG i live in Michigan and love using spinner baits and catch a ton of bass on them.. if you could make a video thats all about spinner baits and what colors and what blades and what trailers to use that would be great

  9. I sit here envious in the high desert in the backside of the sierras where there isn't any real good bass fisheries of this caliber so I live vicariously through LFG vids like this one. Awesome, just awesome. I so wish I lived back there as I did through my youth.

  10. Hey Fork Guy you are the reason I'm buying a Shimano Curado, that and the $149 price tag at BPS right now. Was going to get the Pflueger Supreme XT until I watched your reel review videos. Then I realized I've been watching your videos for a few years and they are just Shimano commercials, I mean that with nothing but respect. If you can fish like you do with their equipment I figure I can try to figure out how to fish a little better. I also picked up a pack of Lake Fork lures, that's a company I'm more than happy to give a little business to. The garlic scent is filling my car through the package and my pack. Thanks Justin, I make comments in jest from time to time in your videos but sincerely thanks for making the videos. Keeps this Connecticut boy through the winter.
