I’ve been throwing the chatter bait for about 3 months and still not got a strike i don’t know if I’m not working it right or what im doing wrong but I see people using them all the time and catching big bass on them so I decided to give it it a shot and can’t catch or get a bite any tips?

I know this is an old video but I just stumbled across it while racking my brain on what might work on snook in the Indian River Lagoon when the surf is churned up and the inside waters are like chocolate milk! Do chstterbaits work effectively on snook? If so, could you please recommend a few sizes and colors? I should also add that there is lots of 4” -7” mullet around. Thanks!

I’ve recently gotten some chatterbait mini flashbacks in 1/8oz and 1/16oz. I ultralight fish a lot. I’ve got them on 4lb and 6lb lines on medium ultralight rods. Since I do mainly pond fishing I think these should be okay. I’ve caught 4lb bass on ultralight so I think it is!

I started building my own chatter baits and I also tie my own flies so I've built a few chatter baits with bucktail, craft fur, Marabou added flash ect for different types of actions and look. I've also added rattle collars and rattles I'm gonna hopefully get out this weekend and try em out.
Pretty new to the scene but ive been fishing florida east of okeechobee pretty consistently, and those 2" Storm softbody shads are my fallback plan, as well as rooster tails. Lately though, ive been using a lot of the z man chatterbait. Maybe i havent experimented enough yet, but ive used it on 3 separate days in as many spots, and i cant get any action on it, not even bites. Im wondering what modifications i can do to it, or what reeling methods work best?

Just fished one of these in a dam tailwater and caught everything but a sauger in the body of water
I caught crappy, red ears, ladyfish (herring?), bass, a ~17lb channel cat, and drum.
I also got a nice 2.5lb channel that will be deli shoes!!
I catch bass all the time at Lake of the Ozarks with a chatterbait set up to mimic a perch pattern. And the water is very clear there. There are thousands of docks lining the shoreline and the bass will come out from under a dock or inside an empty well and really nail it.
Never caught a bass on a chatter idk why just have more luck with paddle tails on fish jigheads and crank baits prob because of the river being so deep tho idk
