I've been fishing deep open water fish with spoons for 35 years works great on all species, back in the day I would use a Doctor Spoon and wow did I catch monsters . If you've never tried Open water deep bass fishing do it many times I have pulled out two to three limits in one spot. You have to keep changing lures to keep them fired up but once you get it figured out you can get huge fish and huge numbers I'm talking several four pounders and a couple of fives to boot !

I have a stocked lake in my back yard, i have used every single lure out there for the last 10 years. Including cigarette buds and pieces of aluminum. I feel like no matter what you do, they will bite something else every day.

Quick tip, on amazon they sell every bug know to man, in cans, for reptiles. You can get 1000 dried grubs for like 10 bucks. Nothing works better.

I used braid when doing this and it was digging into itself from the jarring of the rod, next cast zip goodbye lure!

Hey Jonny noticed you talking about the fish suspended near or off the ledge. I have situations where the fish are down the ledge, either in a creek channel or hole. How would I approach this situation with a flutter spoon

I did this for like 12 hours yesterday and couldn’t catch a thing 😓. We fished a new lake. Our new fish finder wasn’t working the best so all we could do is guess where structure or jumps were. What we could see was a good amount of bass were suspended midway. What could I have done to catch them better.
