Pre Spawn Bass Fishing Offshore

This is the second part of my trip with Shaine from Tackle Addict. We started our trip off doing some sight fishing, but when the wind picked up and the fish became hard to see, were moved offshore to find some big bass feeding up on deep water grass points. We used a variety of shad style baits to target these pre and post spawn bass that were staging on the points and ambushing schools of shad. The water was in the mid 60’s, and with the high winds, the bass turned on to feed in the afternoon. You don’t always have to fish on the bank in the spring to catch big ones as we show here.

  1. Shout out to LakeForkGuy! Thanks for sharing all the awesome and informative (and funny) videos! In one year I have gone from catching no fish, to catching fish on days no one else is thanks to people like you who are willing to impart their knowledge! Truly inspiring man. Thanks Justin, sending you the feels from Austin, Texas, fish on brotha.

  2. The bigger mad draft is 10" not 12" And it is awesome! I bought one and tossed it a few times but it'll do better after the water warms up a bit more in Washington.

    Great job out there guys!

  3. Was over there last weekend sight fishing and let me tell it was tuff!! Has the spawn already happened? I saw some fish on beds and caught a bunch of buck bass but wasn't like last year at this time. Any hints or ideas would be great..

  4. Awsome video and a crazy day of fishing. You two are fun to watch fish together. Great video. Cool to see the complete spawn cycle, and to find the juice during the spawn. That doesnt happen often and you caught in on camera.
