Complete Bass Boat Switch Up! New Everything!

In today’s vlog we are leaving the Skeeter FXR and getting a sneak peak at the new Phenix bass boat with all new Mercury Pro XS motor, Garmin electronics and more. Taking a pause from our smallmouth bass fishing tackle prep, I head up to Fun N Sun to see two of my old boats off.

  1. What was ur very first bass boat and what age and also what was ur first boat and did u grow up fishing I wish I did , and what was ur last previous and current boat plz read during video

  2. That’s what I love about my Stratos it’s a fairly heavy boat with a deep V and handles the rough water like nothing new I’ve been in and that would be a lot of boats I’ve tested after repairing a customers boat. With the new Merc 250 2 stroke I’ve put on it, can still run the new bullets down and eat em for lunch along with jet skis.

  3. If your fishing lake Erie for smallmouth, drop shot rigs are what work for me. Just a 1/0 hook with a weight about 8 inches below. Live craws and live minnows are what I use but flukes work just as well. Drop offs around 15 – 20 feet are were I smallmouth fish

  4. Hey LFG, I am a smallmouth fisherman from BC Canada (Vancouver Island). If there is rock, look for craw colors, browns/orangey-brown/dark greens/red. I love laminate colors as well I find it gives me an edge as the depths and sunlight changes, you always have a visible color. Wacky senkos, tubes, dropshots, ned rigs all great choices. If the fish are suspended, smaller jerkbaits, spybaits. I get a few fish yo-yo-ing rattle trap style baits, tandem spinnerbaits are the way to go as you get the flash from the willowleaf and some thump from the colorado. For topwaters, slow down a lot and give them time to find it. I usually cast in, let the rings disipate, then pop the lure, let the rings dissipate, repeat. after a few pops (30 seconds or so passing) I start to move the lure, but its a half speed retrieve. They will hit the lure sitting still a lot of the time. Nothing better than big smallies on topwater. I love prop-baits as well, probably my favorite (rapala skitter-prop, or the old Heddon Torpedo are deadly. pop it the same as a popper as i described above, then slow steady retrieve I never rip them) .

  5. I like all your videos. You seem to enjoy life to the max, which I do myself. Bait and tackles are always accumulated over the years, but my buddies and I got our gear and trolling motor stolen last year on a North Dakota memorial weekend trip. That feeling sucks chicken butt.

Smallmouth, I love the Oyster color on the B Fish N paddle tail. Tight boat!! All the silver bullets!!!

  6. Just subbed to LFG and LLF. Funny how YOuTube turns your comments off and puts insane amount of ads on LLF. Also just watched the Willis vids…very inspiring stuff. Keep it going. I'm sure your positivity as well as OSG's is inspiring lots of people out there.

  7. Hiya Justin, after going back through your videos and saw 2 years ago you took a young lad out fishing. His name was Elijah who had a brain tumour. I was just wondering how he is doing and are you still in contact with him?

  8. Must be nice! I can't even afford a jon boat or a kayak much less brand new equipment! Hahaha maybe if I had a YouTube channel it would be for regular people who have to hike to places to find places to fish away from the public 🤣🤣🤣

  9. If you get the chance you should come up to Lancome Alberta and check out the World's largest fishing lure. Then go south near Calgary to the Bow river and check out the world's best fly fishing.
