  1. Scopers rubber neckers paradise. No skill, just FFS. BASS needs a reality check. Look down at your video screen. Thx 2026 Xbox video game should be based on FFS only. Very sad state of affairs with BASS.

  2. Always like to hear from the biologists. I'm still waiting for someone to with TP&W inland fisheries to tell the story of how Fork was designed, built and filled. Here is a little of what I know from David Campbell. Across the dry land to be inundated when the lake was impounded, there were existing ponds. The Florida Bass brood fish program at the time was retiring their female brood fish when they exceeded four pounds. The reason is that the smaller females produced more eggs and were cheaper to feed live forage for the eggs produced. Those veteran brood fish were put in those ponds several years before the lake filled. In addition to the standing timber that was left, the TP&W rotenoned the streams and water bodies that were natural just prior to closing the dam gates. The plan was to reduce as much as possible the native Northern Bass that were in the Sabine River and tributaries in order to maximize the coming spawns for the certified Florida Bass that were being stocked. There is more but that's what I remember. That was about 35 years ago.
