The “Muddy Water Slam”: East Fork Lake Multi-Species Action

Headline: We escaped the weekend crowds and the Regatta traffic at East Fork State Park to find an absolute multi-species breakdown on the muddy campground side!
The Story:
With the main lake packed, me and my father-in-law made the executive decision to head over to the north side of Harsha Lake to find some fishable water. The water was a lot more dirty than usual, but the bite was absolutely wide open. We ended up landing a crazy 6-species slam, including Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Sauger, Crappie, Catfish, and even some aggressive Bluegill!
If you want to catch fish on high-pressure weekends, sometimes you have to adapt, find the dirty water, and change up your presentation.
The Baits Used:
The Search Bait: Silent Squarebill Crankbait (Ghost Pattern) – perfect for deflecting off shallow wood and stumps without spooking wary fish.
The Mud Heavyweight: 3″ Black and Blue Rage Craw paired up on a black-head Ned Rig. This created a massive silhouette and heavy-thumping action that the fish could track easily in the stained water.
