Water temps held around 60 degrees, and the water remained stained, setting up what looked like a solid day for a moving bait bite along the bank.

Over a 6-hour trip, we put 34 fish in the boat, but this one was definitely a “numbers over size” kind of day. Only 2 keepers made it into the tally, with a total weight of 21.8 pounds and a best five going 4.5 pounds. While the action stayed consistent, most of the fish were on the smaller side, showing that a large portion of the population is still in that early staging phase.

The bite was almost entirely bank-oriented, with fish spread out and not heavily relating to specific cover. Wind-blown stretches continued to be the most productive areas, and staying in those zones was key to maintaining steady action throughout the day.

A white swimbait and jerkbait both produced evenly in terms of total fish, but the standout bait of the day was a White Pearl Zoom Super Fluke rigged weightless on an EWG hook. That setup not only produced consistently, but also accounted for the biggest fish of the day—a solid 3-pounder—and generated some of the better quality bites mixed in with the smaller fish.

As the day progressed, fish continued to bite steadily, but size never really improved, reinforcing the idea that while fish are active, they’re not fully grouped up in quality pre-spawn patterns just yet.

Overall, it was a fun day with constant action despite the weather, and a good reminder that sometimes you’ve got to sort through numbers to find the better fish. As conditions continue to stabilize and water temps rise, expect those bigger fish to start positioning more predictably.

Also, a quick note on gear, I’m running a new DD26 Live Foot, and I had powered the thing off and when I turned it back on, the remote foot switches stopped working. Need to figure out how to get that working again.

I also stopped using the GoPro 360 Max 2 camera. That thing overheated in 10-15 minutes of use at 70 degrees. I do not recommend this camera.

If you’re fishing LOZ right now, focus on wind, stay on the banks, and keep that jerkbait in your hand. It’s working.
Get more info at Lake of the Ozarks Fish Intel here: https://lakeoftheozarksfishintel.com/

Get an excellent guide, Captain Jack Uxa, here: https://www.lakeoftheozarksfishingguide.com/ 573-434-2570.

My Lake of the Ozarks Fishing Reports Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZubefBIucWLmw6xh0nUWv1_tBs0K6YKM

Music provided by
🔥 NEFFEX – How’s It Supposed to Feel (Clean)
=======================================
Connect with us!
Email: ➡ midmoangling@gmail.com
Phone: ➡ 573-246-0814
=======================================
⏰ Timecodes ⏰
0:00 – Intro
2:07 – The Highlights
6:39 – Fishing Summary
6:44 – Bait(s)
6:49 – Locations
=====================================
#fishing #fish #bass #fishingvideo #bassfishing #app #fishinglife #angler #fishingtrip #angling #bubba #appreview #lakeoftheozarks #basslake #fbd #bassfishingvideos #fishingreport #ozark #missourifishing

We got back out on Lake of the Ozarks on April 3rd and were greeted with classic spring conditions—steady south winds pushing 14 mph with gusts up to 25, mixed with periods of rain and partly cloudy skies.
