Kayak Fishing Adventure for the Guadalupe Bass

Me and Craig head out to the Guadalupe River to try and catch the state fish of Texas, the Guadalupe Bass. Not knowing what was ahead of us on a new body of water, we were met with a few challenges and covered all the check points of going on an adventure. Even if we did not catch any bass, the scenery and experience made it one of those trips you will talk about for a long time. Grab some buds and go on an adventure in the outdoors!

  1. great spot I have fished that many times I took my yak down it and drug it all the way back to the truck…….that's
only about five miles to where the river comes out of the ground

  2. Wish I'd a found this video when it came out. At 8:18 y'all went past a sweet little swimming hole hidden away on the right bank. Crystal clear spring fed little hole. It got wiped out in a flood in '15 or '16. Thanks for not giving out the exact location. Fishing traffic has gotten pretty heavy on that stretch in the last 5yrs.

  3. That just looked like all kinds of fun! My family used to go on float trips in canoes when my brother and I were little here in Missouri. We didn't fish much but, being out on a small river by is awesome!

  4. Hey man, I live 30 minutes from New Branfels and San Marcos close to the Guad. We have hit the part just under Canyon Dam where the trout fishing is pretty good. There is not much cover there though. Where yall are fishing looks super bassy and fun. My wife and I have kayaks. Can you tell me where you put it and bailed out so we can fish that same stretch?

  5. Awesome video!  My wife and I specialize in Guadeloupe Bass and hunt them nearly every weekend. I'm also developing a spinning rod that is ideal for catching Guadeloupe Bass on light line. I'll be posting a video soon of our trip to the South Llano River near Junction this past weekend. It also is one of those pristine rivers and is well worth visiting if you want to catch Guad!

  6. gonna kayak the guadalupe this sunday. thinking of starting in new braunfels at cypress bend park then wrapping it up just north of lake dunlap. were y'all south of dunlap or did u fish the same route I said?
