Barstool Outdoors Profiles: F O R K

A quick glimpse into the life of James Caldemeyer, a professional angler and top guide at bass fishing destination Lake Fork.

Monster Staff

Lake Fork Monsters is a group of avid bass fishermen who chase big bass in the Lake Fork area of Texas. They’re known for pursuing largemouth bass, which can reach impressive sizes in this region. If you’re interested in monster bass, Lake Fork is definitely a hotspot!

  1. I’m sorry but have y’all not noticed that you lost huge view numbers when you got rid of YP? I don’t know the full story but I feel like y’all need some personality. Maybe 2 barstool outdoor hosts? One that actually knows what she is doing like what y’all got now and also someone like YP to spice it up. (Why not YP)?

  2. This is meaningful, different from the typical YouTube video with go pro clips. A real narrative told, quality film following that narrative and the highlights of a fishing trip. This is original content. Thank you Sydnie

  3. Going to give my two cents for anyone that might be thinking along the same wavelength ~ I have been a follower of barstool sports for multiple years now, and love virtually all of their content. However, I was never very familiar with the barstool outdoors page up until recently, I’m guessing because of how big of a deal it ended up being when YP was fired and Sydnie was brought on. That being said, I have felt complied to keep up with the page and how it’s being run and I have to say I am thoroughly unimpressed. Unlike many who have commented on this video to this point, I was unfamiliar with YP’s content so I can’t really compare it to that. However, this is not even close to the caliber of content that a barstool affiliated branch should be expected to produce. The barstool outdoors team should be focused on uploading quality content on social media multiple times a week, and producing quality videos at least 2-3 times a month. Considering the massive audience of younger viewers that the barstool brand attracts, the barstool outdoors team needs to be focused on producing content that has a healthy balance between serious/informative, and most importantly SUCCESSFUL, hunting/fishing excursions on one hand, and your crazy fun “Saturday’s spent with the boys (and girls) at the farm” excursions on another (i.e. slamming some beers and having a skeet shoot on a Saturday while firing up the grill). Honestly, no one following a barstool page should have any desire to watch a ten minute video of bass fishing. Especially one where they hype up some big excursion to Texas to go catch what appeared to be 2 fish the entire time. And for anyone claiming that there’s not much to hunt this time of year; that may be true come June/July/August (que the saltwater fishing excursions during these months), but turkey season has been in full swing for 6 weeks now and all we have seen Sydnie Wells do is sit in a blind with her bow waiting for some turkeys to walk across a field to some decoys. FYI, that’s not turkey hunting. The barstool team needs to do some serious reconciling and turn things around fast before the outdoors branch becomes completely obsolete.
