Hardly any sleep happened over the weekend. It’s been a jam packed bass fishing, writing and blogging week that just keeps going! You can never get enough bass activity though. I met up with Jon B from Fishing the Midwest and Tim and Matt from Tactical Bassin’ for a Shimano event at Bassfest and continues on at Lake Fork. I’m leaving a bit early to head to Rainy Lake in Canada to fish for Smallmouth with my dad. Can’t wait!!!!! Special thanks to Shimano for putting us up at Basseast and hanging out on the water with all the pros. Have a good week and see you next time!

DO IT! My pic is a 6.6lb spot from the lake they were telling you about. Its a grind. Flair went there and skunked but if you spend a couple days its bound to happen. I went 5 times last winter and got two over 6.
Hey, Can u please make a video about selecting lures and when you would throw each one(weather, time of day, water conditions, etc.) I know myself and TONS of "beginners" out there struggle with the problem of not knowing because we aren't as experienced. Thanks

Honestly, any hardbait will work (if you're fishing for pike) and as far as soft plastics go, anything resembling a crawdad on the bottom (berkley havoc pit boss) for smallmouth.

We slayed em on topwater on Lake Fork for about an hour and a half during the skeeter owners tournament they were skooling on main lake points with island the had 1ft humps where they would ambush the small shad. I caught one on the first cast is soon as the yellow magic hit the water Bam must have thrown it in his mouth. Then when the topwater bite quit we moved out into 8ft and threw back into shallow with shad colored 1.5 crank baits and caught a few more. But for the rest of the day nothing both days where the same…
