STOP Overlooking SHALLOW FFS! Tucker Smith's Neko Rig Fishing SECRETS

Are you overlooking the MOST effective way to use Forward Facing Sonar (LiveScope) for Spring bass fishing?

Improve your bass fishing with these expert scoping techniques! Learn about effective shallow fishing using a Yamamoto Sensei worm on a Neko rig, a deadly natural bait & presentation perfect for springtime when bass are moving to spawn. The Neko rig is ever-popular among Bassmaster & MLF pros and that’s because it’s effective. It’s considered one of, if not the most natural baits for fishing shallow areas. Professional angler Aaron Martens was the “Neko rig master,” and recent Lake Fork champion Tucker Smith gained insights & secrets tips from fishing with him frequently. Discover how to target suspended fish throughout the whole year, including hitting pinpoint areas around spawning areas where big females are moving in and out.

Explore key baits for scoping suspended fish like the shad-shaped swimmer, which is recommended when the water is more stained because it kicks out more vibration to get fish to react. The minnow is also good but doesn’t kick off as much displacement in the water. A two-tone color with the minnow is favored because the bait tends to roll when worked, and the different colors hitting off each other creates reflection or flash that gets fish to bite. This rolling action is a secondary action, which big fish like. Secondary action is something that has been paid attention to recently, similar to a swim jig with a kicking trailer.

The swimmer is also a great bait to just throw around and reel in above suspended fish. It’s an easier bait for beginners with LiveScope because you don’t have to shake it right on the fish’s head to make it roll like the minnow. You can just pick up the swimmer, throw it above the fish, and keep it above them. How you fish the swimmer depends on the situation; in a place like the Coosa River with a lot of bait and aggressive fish, you can burn it over their heads, or if the water is really cold, you might have to creep it. Both the swimmer and minnow are effective ways to scope for suspended fish, despite their differences.

Topwater scoping is the most fun, especially on herring lakes, because when fish come up on the topwater, “it’s unreal”. Shallow water scoping is another favorite way to scope. Master these techniques to catch more bass!

  1. Whatโ€™s wrong BASSU, you donโ€™t like any of the anti cheater-box comments? Wouldnโ€™t wanna upset any sponsors now would weโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ.MAKE BASS FISHING GREAT AGAIN!!!

  2. Puke ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ.now you gotta use ffs to catch em shallow you must really suck without ffs all I gotta say

  3. There's traditional fishing, and there is ffs fishing. Two completely different things, imo. I hope they limit it in some way. I think there should still be a place for traditional fishing in high-level tournaments. Being able to find fish and fish without looking at them live on a screen the traditional way shouldn't be completely thrown out. I cant watch BASS anymore, but im glad MLF did what they did. Im all in on mlf now. I know ffs is a skill, there's nuances, some guys are better than others ,etc. But no matter how ppl try to spin it, looking at them live on a screen, for me personally, isn't for me. Especially because it's about 90 percent of what you see in BASS.

  4. Iโ€™m not a big fan of FFS but itโ€™s not like heโ€™s the only person who has it. You still have the same advantage. All you can say is congratulations in my book.
