What gets me is how they talk out of both sides of their mouths. I'm not a tournament fisherman. I fish for the fun of it to relax. I use FFS and learned how to use it from your videos. I keep enough to eat and throw the rest back just like the overwhelming majority of us do. So the "Block Heads" of the world can go pound sand. I'm just surprised they even show themselves since the election. I figured they'd still be crying in a closet somewhere. It doesn't matter who is in the white-house, we'll all survive it and keep moving forward.

SM has taken full responsibility for a rules infraction that occurred at Okeechobee. Labeling him a “cheater” is not only unfair, but also inaccurate. The situation involved a public conversation at his marina— 3 weeks before the event—where he asked a basic question about water clarity and vegetation. While it was a rules violation, it was not intentional and certainly not an act of cheating. He accepted the maximum penalty for it.
The second matter was based on a phone call from September, This conversation didn’t break any rules. In fact, Elite anglers are allowed to fish other nearby lakes and consult with others during their off-limits period about other lakes around the country if they want, and many do so regularly. What SM simply asked where he could find a similar body of water in the area outside of tournament water to practice on during the off-limits right right before the event in April – something fully within the rules.
And let’s not forget, that conversation took place seven months before the event in question. If there were any intent to gain an unfair advantage, it’s unlikely he would have relied on a single, distant conversation that far in advance.
It’s also worth pointing out that some individuals may have had personal biases, and once rumors began circulating, they were spun into a misleading narrative. Whether or not you’re a fan of SM, calling him a “cheater” doesn’t reflect the full context or the facts. Last thing is having an independent poly is exactly what BASS used to handle them, now the guy that does the BM polyps is “their” full time paid employee – is that fair. I don’t think so at all. Independent is the only fair way.
SM has consistently shown integrity, even under scrutiny, and has handled this situation with accountability and grace.
Very well said, I don't even listen to that guy anymore. Just the other day had a guy criticize me for using FFS, Then a few minutes later he whips out his phone to show his live view of trail camera, and his timed feeder . I thought really. What's the difference?
He enters tournaments that other are scoping and then he complains about it. Oh he places in 70 ‘s and and 89’s- good job Randy . I went on his site and called him just a donation to the spot lighters. And he got very mad at me. Makes no sense to me to get in them spot lighters tournaments and then complain about it!
